Size classification
According to their size, they are divided into 1.5mL, 2mL, 5mL, 10mL, 15mL, 50mL, etc. In addition, centrifuge tubes have round and pointed bottoms, as well as screw caps and insert caps. The screw cap centrifuge tubes have a finer scale, while the insert cap tubes have only an overall volume label.
Materials
There are plastic centrifuge tubes and glass centrifuge tubes commonly used in laboratories, generally plastic tubes are used more often because glass centrifuge tubes cannot be used in high speed or ultracentrifuge. Plastic centrifuge tubes are made of PP (polypropylene), which has a relatively good performance. Plastic centrifuge tubes are transparent or translucent, so you can visually see the sample centrifugation, but they are more easily deformed and less resistant to the corrosion of organic solvents, so their service life is shorter.
